Regular Slotted Container
RSC (Regular Slotted Carton) – The RSC is the most widely used style of all of the corrugated carton styles. The RSC is generally manufactured on rotary equipment and does not normally require special tooling. The box blank is slotted and scored, printed, glued and folded to form a complete carton that is delivered to you in a knocked-down or “KD” manner. Usually the RSC’s are bundled into smaller numbers and stacked on a skid. The RSC can be produced in almost all corrugated materials so you can find one that will work for your product. Normally, tape is used to close the flaps.
The RSC is the most economical style due to the high speed equipment that it is produced on. There are almost no size limits on RSC’s but you may not want to use the RSC style for very large cartons since the flaps can get in the way of loading. On the other hand, very small cartons can be difficult to tape.
Products in RSC’s: Glassware, canned foods, motor oil, audio equipment, electronic equipment, paper products, frozen foods, pharmaceuticals, clothing, and household goods.
